Head Clogging or Missing Lines Problem?
2015-06-15 16:23:58

The print head of a UV flatbed printer is composed of many nozzles which are as tiny as dust particles. When the print head is clogged or the printed lines are missed, the solutions of them are different. First we have to distinguish the clogging and missing lines problem.

When the flatbed UV printer is conducting the text printing, every single line in the result pattern represents a nozzle. Many people think the print head is clogged while the lines are not continuous. The truth is, sometimes the print head clogging is far from being the culprit of this phenomenon. We can search the answer by this way:

Conduct text printing every time after the print head cleaning, if the missing line positions of the text printing result always remain the same, then we can get the conclusion that the nozzles are clogged. However, if the missing line positions are not static, then it is just a simple missing line phenomenon. Uncontinuous printing of a flatbed UV printing machine can be resulted from many reasons, such as ink cartridges replacing, ink refilling and long-time absent from working and so on. Usually, the missing lines problem can be solved by print head cleaning for one or two times. Be aware that the time interval between two times of print head cleanings should not be less than 20 minutes.

The tiny nozzles of a UV flatbed printer are one of the reasons of print head clogging and missing lines. If there is any air in the nozzles, the ink ejection will also be affected. Regular inspection of nozzles is necessary, and it can help us avoid substrate waste and save inks at the same time.
