Learn RGB and CMYK before purchasing UV printer
2019-05-24 15:55:06

The main advantage of UV printer is to print the desired or visible pattern to product surface. In fact, there is a color management software in UV printer software, two color modes: RGB and CMYK,many people confuse these two models. Now, I'm going to give you a brief analysis.

CMYK Color Mode

Color attribute: It is a color specially used for printing. This is the actual ink color.

It is another special color standard in the printing industry. It can be obtained various colors by changing and superimposing the CMYK four colors. CMYK is an ink color for four printing purposes: cyan, magenta, yellow and black. It is also the color of four channels in Photoshop software. So some printing must have these four colors to print out a variety of colors

RGB Color mode

Color attribute: It's the color of everything in nature.

RGB color mode is a color standard in the industry. It can be obtained a variety of colors by changing and superimposing the red (R), green (G), blue (B) three color.  RGB is the color stand for red, green and blue channels. This standard includes almost all colors that can be perceived by human vision. It is one of the most widely used color systems at present. Related to our computer, most monitors are currently based on RGB color standards, that is why it is so important to us. The typical application of a display is to emit colors at the red, green and blue luminous electrodes on the screen with an electron gun. Current computers can generally display 32-bit colors. If the color it shows does not exactly match some of the colors in nature, then it is almost indistinguishable from our naked eye.

The difference between CMYK and RGB:

Specifically, in printing, color is produced by controlling the overlapping printing of blue, magenta, yellow and black inks on paper. The number of colors is less than RGB.

Unique: the color is not as rich and full as RGB. There are some features will not be used when runs in PHOTOSHOP. Because the number of colors does not exceed RGB color, when the image changes from RGB color to CMYK color, some colors will be lost, but it is also the only color standard that can be used in four-color separation printing.

Mixing settings: CMYK is designed according to the reflection principle of light, so its mixing mode is the opposite of RGB, and RGB is "subtraction mixing."

When their colors overlap, they will mix, but the brightness will be reduced. Why? It is clear how light enters the eye through the printing. After printing four different inks on white paper, due to the ink is transparent, most of the light will first shine on the paper through ink, while the reflectivity of white paper is higher. Most of the light will be reflected through ink from the white paper at the second time, then enter into the eyes. At the same time, the light is transmitted to the ink to produce a color effect. In fact, it's like we're seeing a number of overlapping colored glasses. When the light passes through one layer, the brightness is reduced and the color is mixed once.
